Women’s Communities: Important Force In Equal Rights

Women’s communities definitely played a very crucial and important role in being able to achieve what we have now and for women’s voices to be heard. These different kinds of women’s community have been a catalyst for change in order to provide support to different women in the entire world.

These communities focus mainly on women equality, women’s rights as well as women empowerment. What men can do, women can do without hesitations. That is why these communities have fought for decades in order to raise the flag that a woman has.

Key Points

There are several key points that these communities look into. Some of the keypoints are as follows:

  • Awareness
  • Advocacy
  • Activism
  • Support network
  • Education

Awareness

These kinds of groups, like the groups of the women’s community, ensure that all the women in the entire world are aware of their rights. It is important that each woman knows what she is capable of. It is important that each woman knows that women’s rights are as important as those opportunities given to men. In the past, women were not allowed so many things even as simple as applying for work. Today, this is considered as one right that a woman must have. A right to a fair and non-discriminating work place for her to grow and share her knowledge and talents in.

Advocacy

These communities have lived their goal to ensure that they advocate for women’s rights. The members of these communities are usually women or even LGBTQIA ++ who believe that rights of women and rights of the LDBTQIA++ must be uplifted and supported. The right to freedom of expression is necessary and essential.

Activism

These communities also engage into activism and this is in order to fight for their rights. One right that women’s communities fought for is the right to suffrage. Women were not allowed to vote. The right to suffrage and the right to run for a position in the government were only given to men. After these communities have shown their desire for women to have equal rights in terms of election and governmental positions, women started creating their own voice to be known and respected.

Support Network

Each person needs to have a support network to keep one sane and grounded. Before, women were not noticed and support systems did not matter for women. Women were just objectified and sold as if they were things that could be bought and sold in the market. Today, things have changed. Women cannot be taken for granted, enslaved, sold and even objectified.
